9/7/04 - I'm sure that it hasn't gone without notice that there hasn't been a new strip in months. Summer proved rather demanding at work as I could expect a full room of kids all day long. Now that summer has ended, I have variable hours once more and hope to be able to spend more time creatively.

However, I am now officially putting my comic on indefinite hiatus. I know that I just said that I hope to be able to create more now, but the fact is that I'd like to get back to writing short stories for a while. I used to write short stories all the time, originating my penname and Internet handle of Dangerously Psycho with my tales. I'm proud of the writing I've done, but not entirely pleased with it, and I'd like to revise it all. I also have many ideas in my head right now that wouldn't work as drawings but are perfectly suited for the written word. I cannot write regularly while maintaining my strip, unfortunately, and the latter had essentially become something of a chore to me.

In time, and possibly sporadically during the hiatus, I will begin to post strips again. Before I do that, though, I have to refine my drawing process. Admittedly, both DPsycho and haemonic are not easy for me to draw. I spent too much effort to make their original drawings look like their real-life counterparts, and the level to which I scrutinize mine own drawings of them makes me not want to draw them. They are, of course, primary characters, so this doesn't work out very well. After some time off to write, and some sessions of trying to draw the characters quickly until I can find a design that I like for them, I will return to this strip. In the mean time, if I come up with anything that I want to share in my writing, I'll mention it here and in my Live Journal.
